About Us

Welcome to The Everyday Autistic

The Everyday Autistic is designed for a community of late-diagnosed autistics who are navigating what it means to be neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. Founded out of a desire to fill the information and support gap for autistic adults and their loved ones, The Everyday Autistic is more than just a blog — it’s a home where late-diagnosed autistic people and their family members can find resources, understanding and belonging.

As a researcher and journalist with more than 5 years of writing experience, I’m dedicated to providing research-backed insights, personal experiences, and practical advice tailored specifically to the autistic community and their loved ones. I know firsthand just how transformative knowledge and understanding can be in helping autistic and suspected-autistic people comprehend themselves and their diagnosis, and I’m committed to helping others on this journey of self-discovery and acceptance.

I believe that quality information on autism awareness and acceptance is not just empowering — it’s life-changing. Here you’ll find topics such as neurodiversity, sensory processing differences, communication strategies and relationship navigation tips, which I hope will equip you with the tools they need to thrive in a neurotypical world while celebrating the unique strengths and perspectives that come with being autistic.

Meet Jade

After graduating with a B.A. in English Publishing and Editing, Jade Warner spent 5+ years as a journalist and copywriter. She was diagnosed with autism at age 28. After autism became Jade’s special interest, she became passionate about devoting her free time to autism research and writing.

In her spare time, Jade enjoys kayaking and RV camping with her husband and dog, cruising on her motorcycle, and curling up with a good YA fantasy with her cats (aka her best friends).
